During a self defense class the instructor brought in a man (one of his students that we did not know) to be our attacker as we were feeling bad to attack him. He told us the man would be really aggressive and that we would have to fight hard. Me and the other women took that as keep hitting and look for an opening to escape. My friend however took that as a no holds bar open door. She is a little overweight and got so tired that she could not get up to run away and just sat there for a moment. The man attacked her again as she was still there and not fleeing. Suddenly we hear him scream as if she is ripping out his kidney ...she had bit him on his back. He was so proud of the "O" mark on his back that he removed his shirt to show it to everyone. Needless to say when we spar now I tell him not to worry...I won't bite!

I wouldn't suggest biting of any kind (atleast in a sparring setting). Who knows what sort of nasties could be transfered if blood was drawn.

That was a funny story, ouch I wouldn't imagine being bitten like that feels good. Moby Joe is right though, there's a great article on avoiding "nasties" in the reading room here: http://www.fightingarts.com/reading/article.php?id=368
