The Chicago Budôkai
is pleased to announce our
16th Annual Taikai
April 28 and 29, 2001
featuring
Mr. F. J. Lovret
instructing his “favorite things”
regarding the
Kenjutsu of the Tenshin-ryű
and the
Aikijutsu of the Yamate-ryű

This martial arts seminar will include kihon (basics) of the Yamate-ryű and the related Daito-ryű waza (techniques) and kihon of the Tenshin-ryű. This is a very important taikai and the information passed on to us may not be seen again for many years. Training will help beginners understand our arts and will keep seniors busy for several years. Training this year will also help us better understand Sensei.

Mr. Lovret is the author of Kenjutsu Shoden, The Way and the Power, The Instructors Bible, The Student Handbook, and Budô Jiten (a martial arts dictionary). He was the publisher of The Bujin magazine and was the editor and publisher of the computer based magazine Budô Shinbun.

Lovret Sensei is Menkyô-Kaiden (the highest instructors license) in the Yamate-ryű and Tenshin-ryű and also has menkyô in karate. Mr. Lovret travels throughout the world teaching the traditional martial arts of Japan.

Everyone is welcome. No martial arts experience is necessary. Martial artists of all arts are encouraged to train with us and see what we do. The 4800 square foot training area will fill quickly, so contact us early!
