Hi,
I'm interested in learning where you guys all train. If your dojang has a website, post it here. Tell us something about your dojang, how long you've trained there, what rank you are, what patterns you do, what styles, etc. This way, if any of us happens to be in that part of the world, we can always find place to train!
http://www.cwtkd.com/

I don't really train there now, per se, but my current Sabunim is the head instructor there. I might train there in a few weeks, once my toe heals. I'm BB (WTF) and we do both ITF and WTF forms. We focus on Olympic style sparring and travel to competitions.

Hi,
My name is Alicia Stewart. I am the head instructor at Three Dragons Martial Arts Academy in Fairbanks, Alaska. Im a IV Dan BB and study under the ITF system. I love this discussion forum because sometimes I feel like no one understands the trials of being an instuctor in the martial arts and I have read many things here that have helped me in my teaching profession.

I train under Sean Wright in Fort Saskatchewan http://www.elite-tkd.com (the information here has not been updated for almost 2 years but I keep reminding them). Sean Wright and the other Elite instructors from all of the locations trained under Master Sung Lee http://www.sunglee-taekwondo.com/master.htm

I am currently a 3rd gup red stripe and having been doing Taekwondo since September of 2002. We are a WTF dojang and do Taegeuk froms. We do spar but there is not a huge emphasis on this. If you want to heavily spar then you would join the fighting team otherwise we only spar on our "D" Days. Four times a year we also hold a interclub tournament but you only go if you want. Master Ty's Spirit Teakwondo also joins our interclubs as well acts as a tester for our promotion and blackbelt tests.

We run a schedule of 6 days that circulates, this way everday is something different. These days are:

A - Promotion Preparation (If no promotion test on schedule then it is the instructors choice).
B - Kicking Training
C - Patterns & Basic Movements
D - Sparring Techniques
E - Self Defense / Falling Techniques (Many times we grapple as our instructor is also a black belt in Jujisu)
F - Long Stretch, Breaking Techniques & Target Sparring

My son's Dojang, here in SoCal: http://www.laitkd.com/

Has been here for around 6 months to date (transferred from another school). He really enjoys attending this academy; much more challenging and has various Masters teaching different days of the week in their specialized fields (poomse/kyoroogi).

Hi TKDNewb. I'm not sure by this what you are for ranking. Are you a Yellow Belt (8th Gup) or 2nd Degree Black Belt (2nd Dan)?

My name is Carmen Gotti, my belt is brown senior (brown belt with black stripe through the middle)and I attend Taekwondo Masters in Bel Air, MD. My current instructor is Mr. Jimmy Hennessy a 3rd Dan, and my other instructor whom I don't believe will be returning due to his other job is Jun Gim a 4th Dan. We are alligned under WTF and USTU and I believe I will be eligible for testing for my 1st Dan in the Fall, so you can probably guess I'm very anxious for that.

Old Thread but I missed it the first time.

I live in Montana and study ITF TKD.
My instructors are from Texas and are a students of students of Alan Stein who trained under Jhoon Ree.

TKDGuy,
I will be taking my 1st Dan test in June!
I feel ya. Six years and the deadline is still to short.

Alicia,
I liked your site for three reasons.
1) I have my own little dragons
2) one of them is named Alicia (foster kid so I don't get credit for the name)
3) I am a UAF grad class of 89

TKDGuy,

I have read of a master Park but I don't know him.

We don't get out much here in the woods!

Park is likely to be a common surname.

Hey you doing any thing special for your test?

By the way, I just signed up with this dojang. So I am really looking forward to the training.

Hi,
I use to train, before i moved to college, at Master Chang Kim's TKD. He is located in Norwalk, CA. We practice palgwe forms and later on taegeuk(argh how do you spell this) forms. He is an 8th degree black belt. Teaches real good and i reached the rank of 6th cup? err..... white, yellow, purple, blue, *green*, brown, red, black. Very small private dojo so you get a lot of teacher student time which helps immensly in training.
