It is going to be televised, at least in my part of the world. CBC (a Canadian network) will start showing TKD around the 26th---I don't have the exact times/date, I'm at work right now.
I have no idea who is competing, either, or how olympic-style TKD works.

TKD preliminaries will be aired on 8-26-04 on MSNBC from 2am-7am ET
The Gold medal finals will be the same day from 5pm-8pm ET on CNBC.
