Kicking & Footwork Perfection

You see I am purely obsessed with extremly fast kicking and footwork perfection, I became obseesed when I saw Drunken Master 2 at the end where Ken Lo( the last guy that fights jackie chan) busts out his SUPER FAST kicking technique, now this is something I HAVE to master and do to perfection, I stretch 2 hours a day, kick on a punching bag for another solid hour and practice kicks on thin air for twenty minutes, just to try and perfect it, I used to to tae kwan do when i was 9(I am 16 now) and I had a blue belt with 3 stripes when I quit but im now doing it again to help perfect this kicking technique, Your Thoughts and Advice would be greatly appreciated!

zeus, you put enough time and effort in to kicking you will become awsome kicker.... I would caution you not focus soley on kicks, but add trapping and grappling and punching also this way you'll be much better fighter train all areas.... and major in kicking

Just keep in mind a kick might not always be your best weapon. Any time you kick above mid level you are opening your self up for counters and causing a large shift in your center of balance. I'd say try working just as hard on you hand techniques and grappling skils. Those three with a good sense of timing, distance and rythem should make you a well rounded fighter. Just remember your training shouldn't only be in the dojo. Three or four hours of training a week isn't going to get you very far. Make your techniques second nature or they aren't going to work, no matter how good they are in the dojo.

Just be aware that what he was doing in the movie wsn't exactly powerfull. Just fast and flashy. Every technique has it's window of oppertunity, high kicking techniques have a very small window. They can ussually only be used effectively when someone is either not paying attention or they have already had there head shaken with a few punches. If your going toe to toe with a guy that knows how to fight your nore than likely not going to get off one of those kicks with out paying for it.

Zeus
If you spent as much time practicing your kicking as you did posting your hero worship on every thread on this forum, you might stand a chance of improving.
