My older brother took judo, he taught me a move were you step up to a person and you have your hands showing, then at a split second your right hand goes to the back of their neck and you left to their right elbow and your left leg goes just a little passed them and with your right leg bring all your weight down on your opponent by shooting your right leg almost to were it touches the ground... he told me that you only use this on people who are much stronger than you so that when they start to lift your right knee goes to their groin... ouch. And he also told me that the reason you put your hand on their elbow is so you could control their body motion... I was wondering 2 things= 1. what is the name of this technique? 2. What are the belt level classes in Judo?

I think it depends upon which association you practice with as to how the kyu/mon grading system goes, but by and large I think Judo is much the same as any other MA in its grading. sadly in the UK almost all Judo is sport Judo and promotion through the grades is to some extent reliant upon proficiency in competition as well as knowledge of the art. For self defence i would recommend Ju jutsu/aiki jutsu as a better bet, although that is only my opinion

From your description of the technique I have absolutely no idea what it is. It doesn't sound like any Judo technique I have ever seen, particularly the bit about knee to groin!! I would think that would be an illegal move in Judo, to put it mildly
