Oi, I'm a author and work on novels which invovles old eras of the Japan. But let's skip that. I was wondering if you could give me some feedbacks about broad swords.

First did it really existed martial artists who mastered use of a broad sword? Can you tell me what were the name of those swords like danbira or nagadachi, at leaste the most common weapon that you know of. Do those swords still exist? Are they still masters in our time that partice with those weapons?

Also deeming from your knowledge of welding a sword (katana any kind), what kind of trainning were they experiencing to weld that kind of swords? Moreover what kind of people were using these weapons?
