Hey samurai, Checked out your pix. Very cool. I.m sure there are a fair few people who read this forum who like there paul chens, but are nervous about contributing because they fear being criticised or not taken seriously 'cause of their chosen sword. i believe the art of the sword begins in the mind, then travels through the body, the actual weapon itself is the third and least important factor. If you gave a master a paul chen practical, and me an angelsword, the master would kill me in a second. Better to employ a skilled tradesman with poor tools than an apprentice with the best money can buy.

Yep, seems like some folks have plenty of time and inclination to post B.S.

[QUOTE]Originally posted by Charles Mahan: Huh. And I thought I was being helpful too. I wasn't offering you any advice on what to purchase. I was telling you where you could find pics of swords that the majority purchase. My apologies for trying to be helpful. I'll know better next time.
Why exactly should I or anyone else go out of their way to borrow a digital camera, snap a bunch of pictures, find some place to upload the pictures too and then post them here? To satisfy your curiosity? Seems like a lot to ask.
And what exactly did my post have to do with Ninja, anime or self training? Aren't you the guy that started the latest Self Training thread?

How were you being helpful? You did not answer the question. Why do you always have to come back with a smart answer. I have yet to see you give any good advice on this forum! You seem to be more of a forum specialist than a swordsmen. I take everything you say with a grain of salt!!!

Try and see it from another standpoint.
Guy posts a request that people don't jump all over, then he gets snide about it.
Several folks offer explanations as to why they are not posting pic of their swords and what we get back is more snide.
(kinda of a fan of snide myself so it does not really bug me--but it was done)
Then a guy that has posted some highly questionable material (and another newbie to boot) decides to get in some licks.
Can you see why folks are not falling all overthemselves to comply?
Then you decide to join in--but you have not posted pics of your sword--you just posted to complain--which you have the right to do of course.
I'm thinking pot and kettle here.

I think he would have gotten more responses if he would have asked for naked pictures of peoples spouses. Wives? Maybe. Their Shinken ? not bloody likely.

Yeah, but that would have gotten folks killed.
Honey, I sent in one of those "private" pics we took on our last trip.
Well because some guys on line asked for one?
Look it an honor-an HONOR I tell you!!!
Honey!! Put that down! I'm sure that it won't show up all over the web.
Honey PLEASE! PLEASE!!!
(muffled gunshot, sound of dull, wet "thump" as body hits floor)

If i am correct in taking this statement as directed at me, then may I say how truly unpleasant you seem to be. It seems to me that if you come across a thread with misguided people on it, and choose to post, it should be in in the hope of enlightening the less experienced, not taking cheap shots from the anonymity of your keyboard. I may be new to sword training, but I assure you my friend i am far from new to life. Your continual derogatory and dismissive tone is something to save for trolls. If you find the conversation on this forum beneath you, may I suggest you spend your free time elswhere conversing with those you deem worthy. You dont seem happy here. If you cant say anything nice........

ABSOLUTLY NOT, it was directed at Wall. The guy whom it was addressed too. And why I was parroting back his words.
Gives me serious pause to think you thought for a minute that it was directed at you. You have been nothing but helpful. And have done nothing but behave in a polite an upfront manner.
Seriously.
Sorry if I was less than clear.
Again, it was directed SPECIFICALLY and ONLY to Wall, in no way, shape or form was ANY of it directed toward you.
Sorry if I was responsible for any confusion on that point.
That being said, might I suggest that you wait for conformation that the post in question was in fact directed at you prior to taking some shots yourself.
