I was thinking about sword smithing and i have a few questions on it + some other questions. First being where can i apprentice or learn to make a folded steel katana or any sword for that matter. In phoenix, arizona does anyone know of any schools that teach a particular sword art? Does anyone have an opinion on wich sword art is the best to use? any help appreciated

Your best bet is to go to swordforum.com. they have three or four sections devoted to bladesmithing.

Your best bet would be to find a bladesmith who will take you on as an apprentice, but it will not be quick. A traditional Japanese apprenticeship takes four years, and others take even longer; I know of some twelve years long.

There was a very long topic on this in the Angelsword forums. I hope you find it useful.
