I'm looking for some input from people who have actually studied this system. First hand accounts only please. Just looking for some pros and cons. I've spoken with one practitioner who was also a student of iaido for several years, a 6th dan i believe, and he expressed a world of difference in the two. I know schools are far and few between but i figured some one here may have had some training in it.
Again comments like "i've never trained in it but it looks cool" isn't what i'm looking for. First hand accounts only please.

Just saw your post. I noticed from your profile you are based in California. There is a study group in Anaheim and another one in San Diego. The best way to learn more about Suio Ryu would be to go check out a class and talk to the instructors and students in person.
I am fairly new to Suio but I like its focus on actual combat arts.

Finally, thanks. I have talked to a member of the San Diego study group. I have a MRI scheduled for my shoulder this Sunday and was waiting till after that to go to the classes. I was mostly looking for some insight to any differences in the system from other forms of iaido. I've seen nothing but good press so far and will be attending very soon. Thanks again.
