Well it doesn't seem to be stopping them from taking over. The solution to trolls is to greatly increase the size of the mod staff, to ban their ip RANGES, not just their specific ip's, and to make sure the regular users do NOT feed the trolls.
Time delays don't work - create enough accounts and you can just roll between them and keep posting.

My view stays the same, keep the flood control. If you can't wait 5 minutes, then it's not worth posting.
How much worse would the troll invasion have been if there was no flood control? 12 trolls (I counted) each posting 2 threads a minute for 1 hour=1440 posts.
That's just for one hour. They were at it for 2 nights, at least 4 hours each night. Need I do the math? I think not.
Keep the flood control, lose the impatient idiots.

I have to agree that the 5 min is excesive. The trolls will go away if you ignore them. I read many post but do not respond to all of them ie the troll ones. We have the choice to respond or not so choose wisely, ignore the trolls. Don't make it difficult for the members that want to make the most out of this forum.

Mature forum members can wait five short minutes until they're able to post again. Guys, it's only five minutes. If you have something intelligent to contribute, don't worry, we'll wait for ya. Plus, it's a small price to pay to help keep the trolls at bay. And thanks to the flood control the little pukes are not taking over the forum. Be more patient.

The average BOT leaves after 20 seconds....
I can answer or respond to 4 or 5 posts in 5 minutes....this needs cut way down...you are loosing a lot of posts because of this!
2 Minutes would be great....60 seconds even better!

I could help MOD if it would cut down on the 300 second rule....
I am very limited in time and 5 minutes between posts cuts down ALOT on what I would post!
Five minutes does not seem like a long time, but to someone with a busy schedule, five minutes is too much time to waste waiting to respond!
I usually get 2-3 minutes to respond at a time!
