Hey guys

I spar with this one guy alot and he always grabs me in a head lock. So since my arms are free I push on his kidneys and it basically drains the energy out of him than I just sweep him down. However the last sparring session we had I did it to him and he didn't react to it. He told me afterward that I've been doing to it to him so much that he doesn't feel it anymore and hes become immune to it.

Could this be true or is he just telling me this so that I won't use the pressure point anymore?

Thanks.

Which hurts more? Getting surprised and then hit in the gut or or knowing you could get hit and in the gut? Their just nerves. They cannot condition like bones or develope like muscles. It's just that your sparring buddy is getting used to it. Not his points. So in a word,

No.

There are, however, techniques to reduce the effectiveness of a strike to a pressure point - all the guy has to do is to target the mental technique toward the right point.

So in other words, if you always go for the same pressure point, and he knows how to counter point strikes, he'll probably figure out where you going and just sit there guarding that point.

I think he's teaching you a pretty good lesson here - you're far too predictable in your fighting. Mix it up a little and give him a few surprises

It is possible to become conditioned to pressure point strikes. Therefore you should work on spreading your techniques around various areas and hitting them in different manners. Also some people are just about completely immune to pressure point attacks so be aware of this as well. If a pressure point doesn't work try just smashing a muscle nearby, then take your technique from there.
