I have a question...is there a pressure point in the web of a person's hand, and what does it do if so? Thanks!

Yes, there is one there. It is Large Intestine (LI) 4. Chinese name is Hegu. It is the Yuan Source point of the LI meridian system and the command point of the face. Generally used for pain relief...especially headaches...also used alot in massage arts like tuina and an mo.

Is there any other point in any other form that maybe closer to the index finger/bone? The reason I ask is that I had an expert in many fields, whilst play fighting told me not go there when I had one wrist on a desk in a wrist lock. Was he just getting me to comply with words or is there an actual point there? Not trying to sound stupid...just curious?

Well...half of the 12 main meridians either begin or end in the hand...so, there are alot of points in the hands/fingers. Many of these are used in tuite or grappling types of work.

Hi whisper,
Are you talking about the webbing between the thumb and index finger? If so,lots of people do not use it right. It should be in and down toward the pinky. Usually used in conjunction with the wrist.

Yes, there is Large intestine 3 at the end of the radial side of the index finger. It is used in finger locks.

Work on your grip and finger strength, work on learning pressure point areas instead of individual points. As with the hand, use your grip and dig into the palms, twist, tear, push and pull ... you can with any part of the body but the most effective being where there are depressions(hollow area) in the body structure which you can feel simply by running your hand against varies body parts.

throat where collar bone meets = depression
under the jaw = depression
the whole elbow = depression
just above collar bone = depression
behind ear = depression
under shoulder blades = depression
lower back = depression
bottom of foot and toes = depression
inside of wrist = depression
various parts of shoulder = depression
LOTS more just touch yourself (lol)

there are several pressure points in all these general areas, thing is.. some hollow areas are smaller or larger than others and some people have more muscle mass protecting certain points.
