Let me establish this up front, I am not a sensie (or even a first degree black belt for that matter) and I do not know any one in this thread. If I offend anyone, I am sorry. Having read the comments I want to say CommonCents had a good idea, he just did it in a terribly rude and offensive way. I will not say any of you aren't sensies as I do not know you. However, in many of the responses, your behavior hasn't always been very mature. I agree that we all must define a true "sensie" in our own terms, and in m definition a sensie does not threaten to kick someone's ass or "...take a dump on all their heads & stuff used tampons down their throats..."
As I see it, a true sensie would not try to scare off this person but rather try to teach him how he can better himself, and I have seen very little of this. And despite his the violent tounge lashings he did eventually come back and I must admit, after all that insulting, it takes balls to do that. As for you commoncents, you were to bold and you seem to have underestimated the people in these forums. Just because I have said a few words in your deffence, doe not mean I agree with you, I side with everyone that you have badmouthed as they are the lesser of the two evils. I am also an "evil" so to speak, but I try to be the least of an evil I can be. And if you have any comments, I always try to be receptive to constructive criticism.

You make a fair point to a certain degree. Commoncents was (and presumably is) both misguided and arrogant in the extreme. However, people on this forum, including myself could have reacted in a different manner. I must point out in my defence though, that I do not consider myself a "sensei" despite my grade or the fact that I have taught students. Do I consider myself an able instructor? Yes. A sensei? No. In my time in the martial arts, I have never taught anyone to be a better person, how to act in life or counselled anyone on their various problems. I have been nobody's father figure not their font of wisdom. I have put nobody on the path to enlightenment, nor spouted wisdom. I am in short no "sensei" in the archetypal mould. I have taught people how to hurt and maim their fellow human beings, how to channel their anger into greater violence and how best to perform various techniques, either for physical efficiency or aesthetics. The point of this admission. Simply that turning Commoncent's life around or helping him out is rock bottom on my list of priorities. Therefore I feel entitled in my treatment of his posts. In terms of myself he was 100% correct, I am not a sensei. However, certain people on this forum to my personal knowledge ARE, and this was what prompted my disparagement to the dross that he wrote.

This is the sensei who CommonCents deems laudable.

This thread could break 100 posts!!

I'm with you, Ninja Raiden.

I think we're all confused as to why this is still going on.

Firstly, thanks to Karate Kid for the compliment, but i'm really no sensei. Secondly as it appears that this thread has run its course and is irritating people I will lock it.
