Unless you're gonna cast a bronze man!
The Dojo closed & Now I've to train at home. The was a guy at the dojo,That was a higher rank than I,& Thought he would teach,When before it was I who instructed the class,But cos he was a higher rank< he decided to give it a try,& Its cos of his lack of knowledge & His arrogance that the dojo is now closed. In the back of blackbelt magazine there are several companies that make dummies. They cost about $400 and weight about 125'. Ed.

How much use are these dummies? As a complete novice in pressure point application (God, it seems odd to be a "white belt" again ), it strikes me that there are differences in exactly where the popints are located on different people, or am I just missing the point?

Cato,
That is a good question. The points are in the same relative position. The measuements are in cun(promounced tsun). It has to do with the finger width of the individual that your are locating the PP on. That being said, that is only for treatment. The activation for fighting is about the size of a quarter or fifty-cent piece.

Thanks. My next question then has to be how can we effectively and quickly find the PP on an individual?
I may be mistaken but I understand that PP's can be used to compliment an existing art. I practice aikido and akik jutsu, and want to use PP's to enhance my use of those arts. To do so I will have to learn to apply PP techniques within my aiki techniques. Is this a realistic aim, given the (apparently) highly technical nature of PP fighting?

I have found that using your reflection in a large mirror can help in identifying targets. Put dot stickers on striking bags to improve accuracy. Be creative, careful, but creative.
