as to my knowledge yea. all the competitions ive been to has had kata events, you just have to register for that particular event.

Sure, many times. Fought Herb Perez and others(From BB Magazine)many times while in my tournament years (1980's). Did lots of breaking and most of all I liked the Bo kata competition. There is something about the Bo that just feels right. The Katana is my other weapon of choice but for competition the Bo is what I prefer.

I compete in both Open Hand and Weapons forms, and just took First Places in both at our local tournamentlast Saturday. I performed American Kenpo Long Form Two and Shaolin Ma Do (Horse Knife).
