Mine would have to be the good old gyaku zuki, i also like playing with low mawashi geri's followed by a ueshiro mawashi geri with the same leg. Ueshiro mawashi geri followed with a spinning sweep gets good momentum aswell

please post your fav combinations when sparring

a pesonal favourite of mine too.

simple but hardley ever failes. Another of that type is the oi zuki lunge punch towards jodan then a gyaku zuki chudan with your right hand. Use the first attack for distancing and something to put in ukes face thus opening him up for the quick gyaku.

I like that too ! I have watched the Ticky Donovan tapes and he preaches a lot of simple moves like we have mentioned, easy but effective !

its funny you should mention that because i was watching one of his tapes the other day.

I like the way he coaches his fighters too. He comes up with lots of good drills that leave you exhausted.

Speaking of drills take a look at the one i posted in 'martialarts talk'

and please post some of your favourites.

With rear leg, fake hook kick then switch to mawashi geri. Sucks a lot of people in.

My favorite combination is always a left mawashi geri followed by a right spinning kakatu geri

The only thing I do consistently is when an undisciplined fighter goes southpaw on me and I use footwork to set up on the outside of the right foot, then use the reverse punch to isolate, freeze, and trap leaving the head open for a short, sharp left cross or ridgehand.

Everthing else is a progression of reads that leads to one of only three techniques that I ever use and those are hitting techniques not "set-up" techniques. That's a pure waste of technique and practice.

Set up techniques a waste? You cant be serious. PLEASE tell me your not. As a TKD practioner I use a lot of kicks> Id say I throw as many fakes as i do real techniques. Make them think I'm trying to kick them in the head then when the move in.. WHAM the real kick. Or punch. or grapple or whatever. I bet you are a boring fighter Tae what with three techniques you use. Why waste time learning all the rest?
