You've got a flat on the highway at night. You're by yourself,no phone,no traffic. A truck pulls up behind you with two male passengers and asks if you want help while you are changing your flat.
You notice that while one is standing close to you the other seems to be nosey to your car and it's contents. You stand up and ask,"what's going on?" The guy beside you puts his hand on your chest and says firmly,"Relax! Let us do our thing and we'll be on our way!"
Do you let them? What action should you take if any?
Fill in any detailed gaps you like with your imigination.
Train the mind to react.

Try to create distance between me and the guy with his hand on me, then run like hell.
I drive a ten year old pick up with nothing of value in it. They can have it.

I don't want any trouble from you guys, take what you want, just leave me alone.

I've got a '89 Accord, that breaks down every 2 weeks consistently. If they wanna pay for the repairs, they can have it, I'll even throw in the registration for em.

(forgot to add what I would do).

I would then proceed to step away from the guy with his hand on me, getting my hands in front of me, but as if I was raising them or giving up, not in any sort of fighting position. I'd probably stand and watch if they were unarmed and just ransacking my car, if they had bats or pipes or something, I'd be outta there as fast as my legs carried me.

who thinks there trying to steal stuff? maybe they want to (EDIT)you hence the firm grip on your shoulder...in that case id reach into my car and pull out my jack/tire rod/whatever is in there because i took out my backseat in my car (series 1 rx7) and sitting in its place is all the repair things for flat tires plus a steering lock..i could reach in and grab them in 2 secs..then make some distance, compose myself, see what happens

Don't make me edit any more of your posts.

Ok I'm changing my tire and these two guys are trying to harrasse me, on guy places his hand one my chest and the other casing my vehicle. If I'm changing my tire I have a tire tool in my hand right. Bad news for them, I'd smash down on his wrist of the hand on my chest and back to his chin or throat.

Then smash the others shin, forearm then use the tire tool as PR24/night stick and spin him to the ground face down in an arm bar. Get on my cell phone and call the local authories. (Notice I didn't strike his head with tire tool.) Don't want MS charges.

I won't consider running here, because they have you pinned in and likely to give chase, I mean what good is a stolen car if they don't have keys or money to put gas in.

If these guys had a gun out then, I'd decided to run. Usually I'm armed part of the CCW program, ex-cop but I won't consider a gun fight unless I could get to cover and not get shot in the process.

In close I'd surprise them by attacking he already put his hands on me. The other guys distracted because he is casing my car. I'd hold them for the cops at gun point.

Flying armlock on the guy that touched me. Butt scoot after the other guy and knee bar him from the guard.

BJJ wins again.

I would want to know what their "thing" actually was.

Rob me? I have nothing in my car or wallet worth bleeding for.

But since I AM armed--I would never let anyone get that close to me--period.

well if you wish to mentions weapons here, then it would be a glock 9 , say it was raining the possiblity of the 9 jamming is still there. just gotta love those glocks. ^^. What i'd do is when they pull over to "help you" i'd put the tire tool on the back of my arm, so to conseal it from the people, and walk up to them to see what they want. and in this case they want trouble, if one is behind the door of their own car, just kick the door to slam on the driver, then duck and try to get to the other passenger, and use that little tool you have in your hand to bang the crud out of the other guy. best thing i could come up with.

9mils are weak and glocks aren't accurate.
I would use my tiretool on both of them then call the cops to clean up the mess.

I'd tell them they can do whatever they want, I'd even go so far as to agree with whatever stealing or sick psychotic thing they were going to say, to a point to make them question what just happened, and while this distracts them ever so little, if indeed they are planning something, heh, goodbye careless people

if they had a gun I'd probably end up doing a jump to the direction they were swinging, and then I would go in and grab the gun, and give it a jerk forward to make the fingers come off the gun or pull the trigger, and I would try to aim the gun at the other guy, if both drew guns I'd close distance ASAP, they want to shoot at eachother beside eachother 3 of us dying is better then just me if it comes to that

Well, I'd like to use strategy here, but with no other people or safe area around, I can't think of any quite yet except to attack.

While you go "reaching into your car", you're turning your back to them. You should have the tire iron still in your hand. What about a wrist-reversal of the hand on your chest while you stab or club with the tire iron, then quickly go on to the second individual who's not looking at you?

if you have a tire iron in your hand, if it's the monkey wrench or whatever you could whirl it at one of them and charge when they're distracted/hurt

Let them take what they wont from the car, and maybe put some distance between yourself and them.

The question is where are you going to go? If there was a party store/gas station/house nearby you should have pulled up near it in the first place. I'm assuming there's nothing nearby. Running and hiding may or may not be a good thing.

Good idea to survey the area, but initatly you had a flat on the highway so running maybe optional but not the best because of traffic and being shot in the back or stabbed.

Pulling a gun with somebody that close would be unwise, because you got to get to it. This guy has his hand on chest all it takes it a punch to KO or stun ya. I'd say take him out with the TT, and in transition drop the TT and pull your weapon on the Guy, now startled because him buddies down.

Call the cops on your cell phone, holding them at bay in the felony prone position.

There is million ways to skin a catfish. But which is the safest for you.

If he had his hand on my chest then his neck would be open for a chop, which would render him out of the game.
Then turn and charge the other guy and break his knee, maybe? dunno, depends how tall he would be.

Magr wrote - Then turn and charge the other guy and break his knee maybe? dunno, depends how tall he would be.

My Reply - Why does it matter how tall he is to decide on which technique to use, short person knees break just like a tall person.

And they react the same way if hit on the chin or solar plexs. Tall people can move the leg just as a short person can.

Unless thats the only target available to you why concentrate on just the knee. What if he moved his leg or you missed what would be your next target or attack? Not caring if he's tall or short. He surprised and wide open lets say, one leg in the air.

I would only go for the knee genraly, and of course there are exceptions and depends on the circumstance, if the other person was big, tall.
The knee breaks a lot easier if there is a lot of weight on it, and if they have long legs.
If he was my height (average) I would probably do a take down? again it would depend on his stance, how far away he was, how unexpected my dropping the other guy was to him.
But a knee is a good disabler, if the other person is tall and heavy (usually the two go together). Again I might be talking crap, but that is what my instinct would be.

Tall=bring them to my level=break knee

Average=can manipulate centre of gravity=take down.

that was my line of thinking.

If you're changing a tire, you have a tire iron. If you have a tire iron, you can drop someone just as fast as you could with a bullet to the head.. Some initial surveying and talking would be a good idea, and if the situation deteriorated further, and became violent, you could destroy the person close by with a tire iron strike to the temple or similar area. I'd say after seeing this there's about 90% chance the second guy would want to leave. If not, lather, rinse, repeat. If you're changing a care tire, you have lots of weapons around you like the tire iron, the car jack, nuts and bolts, hubcap, etc.. If you're on guard there's no good reason your attacker should beat you unless he has a weapon such as a gun, or decides to start throwing his weapons at you.

Magr - I see your point, battle conditions and your plan of attack. I thought you were getting tunnel vision, knee break, I gotta break the knee.

Pradoxbox, Thats exactly what I see why use just your body if attacked by multiples. The scenario speaks for itself you are changing a tire, you stand and guy places his hands on you threatening. Tire Tool him baby and the other guy too. I'd probably stay away for head strikes with TT, you could kill them and may face MS charges. This is the only way we think different, you are way too vicious hitting them in the head with an Iron tool.

But we almost on the same brain wave, but you are a little too wolverine for me. Steaks good enough don't make hambuger out of them LOL.

I suppose hitting the temple would be pretty extreme. Then again, I was looking at it from the perspective that the situation become violent, rather than just someone placing their hand on your chest. I.E. The man starts trying to strike you. I'd react with whatever force necessary in such a situation- they aren't just curious passers by, they stopped with intent to rob you then attacked you, so you know they don't give a damn if you get hurt or not. No need to worry about being politically correct in such a case, IMO.

Personally never had a situation like this, just basing it on what I have seen of various police & citizen attack videos I have watched. Usually in a situation like this, the good guy gets a sudden and complete beat down, sometimes not surviving.
