Fight Competition - 08/16/04 03:10 PM

Hello,

I just wanted to see what everyone did for about a month out of a competition fight ? Ive trained most of my life, but have never actually competed in 'sport full contact'.

I quit doing point fighting when I was bouncing, as I saw the unrealistic nature of it. Ive done alot of RL applications ... but the 'sport' side of it is something new to me that I am trying out to venture new avenues of my path in the arts.

Ive been training with a new motivation due to this, which is a good thing. Im about to start doing MUCH more anaerobic for the next few weeks ... with a little rest the last week before the competition. Here is a link of what I have recently been doing. ( http://www.fightauthority.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1114 ).

Anyways ... any ideas you have I would appreciate.

Train ON . . .

Humbly,

hey monk.

heres a condensed list of my program:

-aerobic and anaerobic running program
-heavy sparring up to 2 weeks
-no sparring for last week
-heavy pad work for the last month, increasing in intensity up to the last week
-last month, all training and drills done with mouth guard in
-last 2 months, all sparring done with all gear which will be worn in competition ie. head gear, shins pads, same size or larger gloves.

thats the 10 second version..hope it helps.
