acouple questions, about MMA rule's - 10/16/06 03:15 PM

Im in Ohio, i read this.
State Athletic Commission approval in such major states as New Jersey, Nevada, Florida & Louisiana.
Now i got that from the UFC web page... Im wondering
1. Does this mean there will be no MMA comp's in ohio?
2. is this why i cant find a good MMA camp anywhere near me?

Hay punishement

good question...However, I feel that you might get a faster answer if you post in the MMA forum, since this forum is primarily dedicated to questions related to teachign the martial arts in general.

Not necessarily. Im sure there are quiet a few in Cleveland and in Cincinatti. I used to live just outside of Cincinnati and attended a good Muay Thai school. Not exactly MMA but its a start anyways.

Gracie Fighting Challenge a while ago was in Ohio. UFC is limited to states with sanctioning because if they hold an event in a state with no sanctioning then they can't hold one afterwards in a state with sanctioning. Since Vegas is their biggest market, they have to stick to the NSAC requirements. Other promoters are free to hold events in other states where it's not illegal, as long as they're not hoping to hold them in a state with an AC that might sanction them under unified rules.
