You do realize you may live in a state/county/shire/municipality/country that does not allow you to own pepper spray?

Google search name of state/city and penal code-should find a nice site ending in .gov that has a list of local penal codes, search through it under weapons.

Good luck.

Re: where can i buy pepper spray - 04/22/05 11:45 PM

i said it up there
i wanna ask too
would it be more affective to use a stun gun

Re: where can i buy pepper spray - 04/22/05 11:59 PM

Ok, I missed that you are 13.

No store is going to sell a thirteen year old a weapon-both mace/pepper spray are considered chemical weapons, a stun gun is also considered a weapon.

Advantage of mace/pepper spray is you can be several feet away from the assailant. If you use a fog type sprayer, can use on a group that is close together.

Stun gun the assailant must be within arms length, can only use against one person at a time.

You don't have to be specific about your location. I really just wanted what state/country. Since you are 13 you'll have to wait a few more years to buy pepper spray.

You should do neither! You are not old enough to have it.

Re: where can i buy pepper spray - 04/23/05 10:53 PM

OK i am also a teenager, and i live in an area where it is occasinally necessary to defend myself ( i have gotten jump more that 5 times in the last year , though i was never hurt more than a bloody nose or black eye)but a cheap weapon that is easy to use is this : 1) get a roll of nickles
2) wrap in 1 lairof duct tape ( so it dosen't fall apart)

it can be used either as a fist "enhancer" (used to add mass and power to punches.
or
if you are being attacked by one person you can chuck it at their face and run as fast as you can either
1) in the oppisite direction
2) at them while they are distracted (this should only be done if you know for a fact that the person will be able to catch you, even with the headstart you gain from hitting them with the nickles

while i hope you never have to use either of these two tequniqes, i hope that you will find this informative, and would like anyone else in this forum who can think of moore application for simalar weapons to come forward, as it couild prove to be quite an interesting conversation.

So you're saying to fend off "gang members" he should hit them and throw stuff at them?

Re: where can i buy pepper spray - 04/23/05 11:04 PM

Vesratile, I can't afford nickels-could I use penneys instead?
Or when I get rich, would quarters work?

Does it have to be duct tape, it can't be electricians tape or just scotch tape?
