This is a terrible thing to happen to anyone, but this women did pretty well in the circumstances:
i) Prepared for the worst (carried a stick with her in case of a dog attack. In the UK/Ireland, civilians are very limited to what they can have on their person in terms of a weapon). Also having a mobile phone with her.
ii) Awareness, she knew the guy was there, she had an instinct something was wrong.
iii) Reacting to being grabbed. She was expecting something to go down, so she was able to react quickly.
Any thoughts on this?
