IMA Schools - 03/21/05 07:18 PM

HI my martial arts school is to me a very good one. They teach southern shaolin and wushu my instructor Shih-fu Sean Marshall (if any of you ahve heard of him please let me know!)whose knowledge of the art seems very deep. Another instructor at the school started teaching me Tai Chi but this style is very different form what i ahd previously learned by the way the name of my school is Jing Ying Martial Arts Institute. I was wondering if there are way to tell if something is phony or the wrong way

I would be worried about ANY school that taught wushu really. Not that they are inherently bad but the general consensus is wushu is nothing more than dancing. It is not very practical at all from a martial art standpoint.

And I would be worried they were teaching me a wushu version of shaolin.

This may not be the case but Wushu always sends a "red flag" up in my mind.
