Does anyone have experience of Falun Gong?

Isn't that a religion that is under political suppression in China? If so, I will have to move the topic elsewhere.

I have 'heard' some 'interesting' things about some of the practices.

Possibly Harlan, I think that's why the PRC are suppressing it. I was more interested in the chi kung meditation techniques.

If I've breached rules, sorry. maybe move it to 'General Talk' and fill me in on the 'interesting' things.

I don't know anything about it...except that it is controversial and has religious aspects. I'm renaming the thread, and leaving it open. If anyone knows anything about the meditative practices, feel free to contribute.

(Check your PM for more info.)

It is just another form among hundreds of other forms of chi gung practices, but they got into trouble with the PRC government for giving some religious / magical spin to it and also got a little political in challenging the communist government by staging sit-ins. It was declared a cult with all the negative connotations.

"Falun" means 'divine/magical wheel' It was the 'divine or magical' part that did not go down well.
