I meant that everyone has their own truth when it comes to this subject. 'its there if you want it to be' ...since each of those questions could have truth to someone somewhere, then replying 'FALSE' would be the wrong answer.

not only that, but #7 superceeds all others when true.

For some reason Ed's response doesn't surprise me at all.

Define meditation first. Some people would consider meditation sitting in lotus position for several hours contemplating their navel, while others use the same word to describe a simple form of self-hypnosis, and some consider medition praying and contemplating the words of God.

Here's a quick meditation fact for you:

Consistent meditation increases brain mass.

Interesting, isnt it?

I'm assuming you have a reference for that statement.

I'm a psychology major. Just a little fact I picked up during my physiological psychology class

Here's a website so that you don't think I'm pulling this out of nowhere.

Interesting indeed:

Quote:

Our data suggest that meditation practice can promote cortical plasticity in adults in areas important for cognitive and emotional processing and well-being," says Sara Lazar, leader of the study and a psychologist at Harvard Medical School. "These findings are consistent with other studies that demonstrated increased thickness of music areas in the brains of musicians, and visual and motor areas in the brains of jugglers. In other words, the structure of an adult brain can change in response to repeated practice.

Quote:

The increased thickness of gray matter is not very much, 4 to 8 thousandths of an inch. "These increases are proportional to the time a person has been meditating during their lives," Lazar notes. "This suggests that the thickness differences are acquired through extensive practice and not simply due to differences between meditators and nonmeditators

Interesting how the Buddha is depicted with a raised area on his head. I wonder how much and how long one must meditate to achieve that "bump", if meditating actually physically increases an area of the brain. I'm sure artistic expression exaggerates the size and placement of the "bump", but I wonder if it isn't based on fact.

Not to mention the headaches involved.
