Form is Emptiness - 01/09/06 10:03 AM

On the Prajnaparamita Sutra from the Dzogchen perspective:

In this sutra, Avalokiteshvara says "Form is emptiness; emptiness is form. Emptiness is not other than form, form none other than emptiness." This may sound impenetrable, but, according to the Tibetan system...correctly understood (it) is key to every Buddhist path.

In the realized state, form and emptiness are not perceived as being separate. Although they both continue to manifest, one is not conditioned by either of them. They move, alternate, flow, or dance, and the practioner experiences no obstacle, difference, friction, or separation. When one knows that "single experience" for oneself, then form and emptiness are "not two" any longer; they become the everchanging decorations of the one experience.

All of the Buddha's teachings can be summed up in this one sentence- "nothing whatsoever should be clung to."

Oh, for a moment I thought you were talking about kara-te kata....

But now looking at the empty laptop in front of me, I think I know what you're talking about, as these words magically appear on your screen.

Knowing without Understanding,
Meaning without Concept.
Leaping into Radiant Emptiness...
I becomes One.
