Boredom - 10/30/05 02:39 AM

Its closing in on 1am. i've done nothing all night. i'm incredibly bored. normaly when this happens, i become frustrated. this makes the boredom hard to deal with. tonight is differant for some reason. this is the first time i can remember where i have been both bored and calm in this way.

Just felt like ranting about it a bit, and figured here might be the place.

Question: If a Canadian MAist complains of bordom in the middle of a deserted forest, would it be sound?

WELL IT WONT MAKE A SOUND IF HE DOESNT GET INTO THE FOREST TO PRACTICE!! HOP TO IT!!

Seriously, I wish I had time to be bored I have a newborn child, a wife, a job, still studying, and I fit in time to practice all four af My MA! Perhaps you should take this time to practice, even if it is only punching!!

Re: Boredom - 11/01/05 01:53 PM

It's safe to say it would be sound.

Re: Boredom - 11/01/05 03:30 PM

But if you say a sound it might disrupt the quite, thus making it um.... ok now i've gone and confused myself.

Hence the question.

For a boring thread it seems to have generated a lot of lively interest:-

--- we have Kintama quantumly sounding out the members randomly on the possibility that boredom may be a function of Kamloops having an uncertain location south of Fruitloops and perhaps speeding up in its quest to be a preferred tuorist end-point destination.

I declare to-day as Kamloops Day!

Fruitloops will have to wait its turn.

TRARUP, you have put Kamloops on the world map.

Re: Boredom - 11/02/05 07:40 AM

are you saying I try to lead people to hell? that would make me a ...a what? a...demon? lol nope, I've never been THAT bored. people can find the place completely on their own, they don't need a tour guide.

back on topic: boredom is a condition for me that happens when I lack imagination....or if there is a power outage.

Zen Boredism
The non-philosophy which takes it's name from the sanskrit 'yawnii' meaning 'to rub ones eyes for clear sight'.

Egad!!! all this chaos caused by me not knowing what to do one night. Why, if this is the power i have, i must learn to harness it. use the power of my boredom to control the world!!

MUWAHAHAHAHAHA

Re: Boredom - 11/09/05 07:58 AM

That's what Zen is all about; you never know where it will lead.

I also remember something about opening boxes of chocolates..........

Have you un-bored yourself yet? we are waiting.......

Alternatively, you can take lessons from that Kin fellow in Zen Boredism; its a study of how boredom, whether its self induced or not, can lead to Enlightenment, if you can successfully get pass the 'yawni' phase.

Good Luck and what is the population of Kamloops? does it have a Chinese take-away?

Re: Boredom - 11/09/05 02:23 PM

hehe, Yes i have un bored myself. never know when it'll return, but for now i am unboredified. And Kamloops isnt as small as i make out, population about 80k. its just a bit of a sleepy town where once the clock strikes midnight you need to fight the odds to find something to do.
