Dipping there hands in what looked like Hot Rocks? - 01/17/05 11:05 AM

I was watching an old Burce Lee classic Enter the Dragon, where on it they showed martial arts students dipping their hands in what looked like metal bowls filled with gray rocks and sand type stuff, with fires under the bowls heating them. Does anyone know what they were doing here exactly and what they had int he bowls? Im guessing they were callousing their hands but im not sure, and im not sure what was in the bowls exactly. Maybe if there is an exact term for this, i dont know.

It's a secret technique that is only practiced by advanced students.

It's called;

"Making a movie!"

probobly another dumb worthless trick, similar to walking on hot coals but with the hands.

o wait! its a movie? then its probobly from the mind of an imaganative person. I cant say eny more because I never heard of that technique (ex; walking on caols) before.

LOL

Nice one JohnL.

They probably developed this idea from the old Shaolin Iron Palm training.

There is a similiar test in some martial arts. For example, to become a Master in whatever style my GodFather practices(I don't know the name) one must lift a cauldron filled with smoldering coals, usualy with the forarms.
I've seen what you are explaining on some Ninjitsu documentaries; but, they were probably frauds, simply because they were on T.V.
