What techniques or postures would you use in Yoga for the mega-stiff(ancient of days)cruch? Iam about 2 feet of the ground and that's after a warm-up.

Does it have to be Yoga? I find Yoga brilliant as a form of relaxation and for concentration. But for gaining flexibility it is a long slow process.
Kurz has a good programme for gaining flexibility fast - this would probably be more appropriate especially if you goal is a split.
