My son is complaining about losing his balance while stretching, but I think he is full of it. Just in case he isn't anyone have an idea how I can help him improve his balance while stretching.

Standing on one leg , close eyes. Trickier than you might think. Great balance building exercise. Start with weakest leg. Hold as long as you can without opening you eyes or falling.

You can also have them do 30-60 second rounds of one-legged sparring. No kicks or punches, object is to just push each other down.

If he is stretching with one leg up he needs to focus on something. Have him stare at a single spot while stretching, it's much easier to maintain your balance that way.

actually he is doing a modified split where he has his legs twice shoulder width and he pushes out his knees. I can do it and I have my problem.
