Flexibility - 12/19/06 10:15 PM

Hey everyone, I'm new here.

I am a brown belt in kyokushin karate, and am studying for my black belt. I have been taking lessons frot he past ten years, and one of my setbacks is my lack of flexibility. ive done alot of reserch, and know many stretches and types of stretches (including looking on this board), but can't seem to find valuable advice on what exactly to do everyday in th emorning, or night, and maybe an intense stretch workout 30 minutes a week. Can someone please post one, or a link where i can find one. Help would be very much appreciated.

Check out the following links:

And try and get hold of the following books:

Stretching Scientifically by Tom Kurz
Ultimate Flexibility A Complete Guide to Stretching for martial arts by Sang H. Kim.

The one thing that enlightened me with my routine was Tom Kurz's book Stretching scientifically he offers the greatest advice and the best way of getting the results you are after. He even includes routines for sport specifics. So therefore I would advise borrowing or getting hold of this book. Good luck and please keep us posted.
