Calf Stretching

Calf Stretching - 02/28/06 10:51 AM

Can anyone tell me how to properly stretch my calves? I used the technique where you hold your leg out and press against a wall and also tried using my body weight to stretch them hanging off the edge of a step, but they still cramp, usually while I'm sleeping. Anyone know any solutions for this? Thanks

You shouldnt get cramps in your leg because of that although this is only my opinion.
The best two strecthes for this muscle are:
1. the one you mentioned where you are on the edge of a step and you slowly lower your body and then higher it.
2. when you sit with your legs in front of you and you lean forward to touch your toes you pull your toes towards you. I find that this really does work your calves. Although all of this is my opinion you may want to see a doctor and ask him what he thinks about the cramps.
Hope this helps

Hmmm....a friend told me that taking in more electrolytes and hydrating more should help. I'm going to check that out and hopefully, it'll work.
