Fancy Kicks - 06/17/05 04:10 PM
I take martial arts classes three times a week.
Our style focuses mostly on the practical "street fighting" self-defense techniques, and not so much on the artistic side of the martial arts.
This works very well for me, but I do want to learn how to do the more artistic kicks. I'm talking about spin kicks, aerials, the fancy stuff that won't save you in a real fight, but just looks really cool.
I don't have the time or money for another school, and I don't want to leave my current school.
Can anyone direct me to some resources online that will at least give me an understanding of the body mechanics involved in performing these flowery kicks?
I'd also like to know about any exercises/stretches that will help me kick higher.
Thanks!
