Is anyone out there familiar with this style of Kali/Arnis? I attended a seminar a few weekends ago and was very surprised by it. The main differences were mostly based on economy of motion. Footwork was scaled down alot, using more swaying motions, back and forth, than dancing around. The first five striking angles were different too - some of them were amalgamates of different angles in one move and the few(er) knife strikes involved leaning in for a stab and then retracting with a hand-push (to get your knife out of the opponent's gut). There was also a Buno portion of the seminar, which is a ground fighting art. It had similarities to BJJ, but I thought it was much simpler and followed the KISS philosophy more. Both of these forms of Kali seem pretty ellusive, but if you happen across them, do check it out!
