Favorite Cars/Trucks/Bikes

I thought I'd make a post in here that I started. I also thought I'd make it a broad range so as not to leave anybody out.

For myself I have always been partial to older cars, though I do like many of the newer cars. With that said one of my favorite cars is the older Corvettes. An older girlfriend of mine's parents had one that he purchased brand new while in school that was a 64 Corvette and it was beautiful. Had the power antenna for the radio that was vertical in the dash. It was red and had the chrome pipes on both sides and rumbled beautifully. They used to take us out in this though it didn't have backseats so we sat hunched over in the little space in the back. Mind you this was in 1983 so we did not have to worry about seatbelt laws.

I also like the older Cameros and TransAms ... and I'm talking about the 60's not the garbage they threw out in the 70's and early 80's. Also like the old Dodge Challengers and other muscle cars from that era, and actually was working on a 74 Dodge Dart back in the early 80's but sold it to my cousin who trashed it.

Many other cars I really like such as Porshes and stuff, and if you were to come to my house my basement is a guys basement with car pictures on the wall, NHL Hockey banners from every team, beer ads and paraphernalia, NFL banners, hockey and football figurines, cool old toys from when I was a kid, pool table, beer/alcohol fridge, wide screen TV, surround sound system, fire place, Katana (sword), X-Box and all the stuff a guy can kick back and relax. Not to mention my weight room and bathroom complete with a 2 seater steam bath. You'll come for fun but you'll never want to leave.

Oh no's..This is officially my thread now . I am a big fan of cars, brother in law owns a shop, 2 cousins own shops, worked in shops heh. I love modern day imports more then the old schools. Fav old schools are 64 El Camino, 62 vetes. Fav modern/imports 5th generation honda civic's (I own a 95 civ/project car stripped atm w/primer all shaved up w/ custom body kit (very very clean) no engine - had b18c w/bottle 75 jets), supra's, datsun failady Z, and the Nissan Silva S14.5 is my dream car. Also gotta love the porsche 911 turbo, BMW m3/5's. Use to live in Monterey, CA which you car fanatics know is home of Laguna Seca (where I did skip barber racing school) and the Concours D'Elegance.

Stereo systems are a must, big fan of JL Audio, Eclipse, Focal, MB quart. I use to compete in the street 1-2 class, street 3-4 class, and few attempts in wall/super street 3-4 class. I did 146.8 db w/3 jla 12w6's (old ones) which beat most of the 4 guys. Ahh the good ole days of no school and dumping all my money into cars heh. My garage 2-3 car garage has all halogen lighting, overhead power extension reels, lighting reels, toolboxes, a desk for my RC cars, Marantz home stereo w/b&w speakers (in my garage lol), car/beer/women posters (some signed from sexy ass women from going to SEMA a few times) and now weight lifting equipement. I got a workshop in the back part of the garage also.

Cars and bikes are a tricky one, i love anything custom- hot rods, chops, streetfighters, one offs. Just went to 'Ink & Iron' in Birmingham- fantastic day, with custom bike show downstairs, a tattoo expo upstairs and a load of live bands and extreme piercing/body mod artists.

Best bike of the day was built around a corvette engine! the engineering was incredible, and it had a 0-60 of 1.8 seconds with 430bhp at the wheel! not to mention a kick a$$ paint job and a life size silver skull with glowing eyes for a headlight

For factory standards, I like the dodge Viper, All harley's and Victory motorcycles, and of course, the new Veyron- simply the greatest car that we will see in our lifetime (providing you have 800,000 pounds sterling to spare)

Whilst performance bikes are impressive, they just dont do anything for me. Things like the hyabusa and the R1 just arent my cup of tea.

Sounds like your old school Cord. Like the Viper as well, some Ferrari's, Lamborghinis, and super fast cars like that. These I have on my walls too.

Bikes, I appreciate some of the cruiser type bikes especially the ones painted up all nice and especially the ones that Orange Country Choppers (OCC) make on their show. But I'm a sport bike guy with a 2004 Katana 750, which is built more for comfort and not speed like the Yamaha R1, which my friend has but find it uncomfortable ... but easy to do wheelies on. The Hayabusa I do like and is comfortable to ride but 1300 cc's is a little too much for my liking. I'm more a GSXR600 or GSXR750 guy, which will probably be my next bike and just keep this one for comfort, and doubling my wife.

It seem cruiser type bikes and tatoos go together rather well. I have no tatoos and really have never wanted one as I did not want to mark up my skin. However over time I have thought about it and would like to get one of those hemp tatoos just so that I can see what I like. If I can wake up every day looking at it and like it still, then I may go with something like that. Probably something on the arm like the barbwire, but to be more original I would have the barwire go around the ying/yang symbol with some Korean words about strength ... and maybe a little blackbelt below it. Maybe for a graduation gift to myself. Just an idea.

Diabolic, stereos are a must. I used to have stereos that cost more the the cars I owned, though nothing like what you are talking about. Most of the equipment I had was Pioneer or Alpine. I spent so much time trying to figure out how to install stereos in my own vehicles I got so good that the next thing I know I'm doing it for friends and family. But back in the 80's and early 90's it was much more simplier and now I rather just buy a new vehicle every 3 to 4 years and upgrade the systems they offer.

We used to make our own bazooka tubes because we couldn't afford the real ones. My dad owned his own cabinet making shop so my brother and I had access to a lot of tools and equipment and after painting things up they look awesome. Next thing you know friends wanted stuff too. We couldn't afford all of the expensive amps so we hooked up multiple amps and in one car we hooked up a second battery in the trunk that charged off of a larger alternator that we installed so we could blast tunes and not draw power from the actual vehicle battery.

I had bought a 1989 Ford F150 brand new and had the exhaust done. It was a 5 speed 302 and it went like snot and sounded awesome. Behind the seat I rigged up speakers and amps in sectioned off square box and when I flipped a switch underneath the dash it would kick in and you could hear me for blocks. The bass was so high you could feel it thumping in your back. Man the good old days.

My favorite car: '72 Cutlass Supreme 442, two door Cherry red with a white top. God...I loved that car! I'd take it out on the MA Pike and whenever I took it over 100 mph there would be this incredible za-zoom!

Bikes: It isn't the bike but the guy I'm riding behind that makes all the difference. Seriously, I should say Indian because of a family history with Springfield (MA) and the bike...but I like a Harley lowrider..and enjoyed some time on a Triumph Bonneville 750.

Bikes I am more into the cruisers, Big Dogs especially. Sport bikes rock, but they are damn near TOO fast. My buddy had a Honda CBR900 - that thing was incredibly fast. I like speed, and would probably splatter myself instantly on something like that.

I like the classic muscle cars, too. I owned a 70 Chevelle SS 350 and a 71 Monte Carlo SS 350. BADASS!!!

I loved the old Aston Martin DB7 and Vantage, and the current AM DB9. Beautiful cars.

BTW - the owner of the company that I work for owns a Boss Hoss motorcycle. Big Block V8 with nitrous. Custom trike 57 chevy rear end. Probably cost him around $90-100K US.

I asked him if he ever used the nitrous. He said "Have you lost your f#cking mind? Hell no!"

Awesome stuff Matt. Cool cars to own as well and I am envious. Agree on the 06 Viper and you are correct about the Corvette. I like the older better but I would not pass up the opportunity for the newer either ... beautiful.

You are correct without a doubt. The fastest I've gone was 230 Kilometers/Hour (142 Miles/Hour). I was taking my bike in for its year end service and my friend was following behind me in his Mitsubiushi Lancer that he's been working on increasing the Horse Power like the movie the "Fast & Furious" (or was it 2?). My wife and his girlfriend were also with him and I punched out and he said he could not keep up with me ... and that car goes. I had to stop otherwise I would have been going faster as cars in front of my were taking up both lanes and I couldn't pass. Wife gave me severe crap afterwards.

Normally I'm scared to death to drive these speeds but that one time it all felt right and ... ZOOM ... off I went. Will I do that again ... probably not. I recently had to go to court to fight a Photo Radar Ticket that was for going 129 km in a 80 km zone (80 miles in a 50 zone) that I got the day after my birthday in September. Cost me over a $100 after being reduced ... as all photo radars get reduced if you fight them. Can't be paying for stupid mistakes like this.
