Finding Instruction in the Hudson Valley, NY Area

What are the acknowledged governing bodies or associations that I should look to, in order to find a reputable teacher/school for MT ( not interested so much for the sport, but application/combat components)? I'm in Orange County, NY & would like to have someplace close enough so that the after work commute to train does not become a chore.....I'd be looking at a 2 hour roundtrip for the one school/teacher I'm familiar with.
