Punched in ear - 05/03/07 05:37 AM

Got punched in the ear yesterday at the time it just felt like a knock, but when the adrenline went it was bright red and hurting, not red now but I can still feel it (like nearly 24 hours later) anyone know if its likely to be damaged or w/e? My hearing seems fine and its not exactly 'pain' anymore just a dull ache I guess.

i dont think its anything major. You would really start to feel the pain after the adrenaline is gone. The warm/hurting feeling in the ear is the blood flow increasing making it red. basicly thats how your body heals.

i would give it a couple days.

As long as you don't have a perferated eardrum I wouldn't worry.

As always though, go see a qualified doctor about it.

Symptoms of a Perforated Eardrum.

Earache or ear discomfort, may be severe and increasing.
A sudden decrease in ear pain may occur followed by ear drainage.Drainage from the ear (may be clear, pus, or bloody)
Hearing loss in the affected ear (may not be complete loss of hearing)
Ear noise/buzzing.

if you have some of theese symptoms you might wana go see a doctor. If there is a hole, bacteria could collect in the ear causing a nasty infection.
