Is there any method to learn muay thai enough to apply it in fights using dvd's? And if yes what dvd's are best? Seeing as i have no muay thai dojo's or classes near me i cannot just go and train i would have to home train.

Long answer, originally posted by Leo_E_49:

If you are interested in starting martial arts training, the best way to do this is to seek a qualified instructor and learn first hand. Learning from books and DVDs is not a good idea for a beginner, the same as you would not try to learn how to drive a car just by reading a book on it (without ever stepping into a car). The best way to go about finding a school is to look in the local yellow pages under "Martial Arts" and do a search on www.google.com for martial arts in your area.

Well... not all is lost... get a sandbag and some pads and then go to http://muaythaibot.com/muay_thai_reference
you'll find some excellent articles about training and techniques.
Good luck!
