Bantamweight Championship bout: Miguel Torres vs. Brian Bowles
Bowles defeated Torres via KO (punches) at 3:57 of round 1 to become the new WEC Bantamweight Champion.
Unbelievable. Speechless.
Bantamweight bout: Joseph Benavidez vs. Dominick Cruz
Cruz defeated Benavidez via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28)
Excellent, high-action fight. Benavidez did very well, considering the HUGE reach advantage Cruz had.
Lightweight bout: Ricardo Lamas vs. Danny Castillo
Castillo defeated Lamas via TKO (strikes) at 4:15 of round 2.
Another great, fast-paced fight.
Bantamweight bout: Jeff Curran vs. Takeya Mizugaki
Mizugaki defeated Curran via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)
Really disagree with this one. Curran totally dominated the last round. I don't see how the judges could have possibly scored it for Mizugaki (except for him being on top on the ground). That said, I do like Mizugaki. But they gave him this one.
Featherweight bout: Leonard Garcia vs. Jameel Massouh
Garcia defeated Massouh via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)
Really could have gone either way. Garcia dropped Massouh in the first, Massouh choked Garcia out in the second, third was a draw, IMHO.
