instructional BJJ DVD

Hi - can anyone out there suggest some good instructional BJJ DVDs - I am training at a very good BJJ gym but like to pick up some extra techniques and tips watching DVDs.. I am tempted to buy Damien Maia - Science of Jiu Jitsu, but it's very pricy! Machado's DVDs look good also..

Any suggestions??

I just picked up a Roy Dean DVD called "Blue Belt Requirements" that is really good. It focuses on escapes, submissions, guard passes, throws, and takedowns that he requires his students to know before he'll consider ranking them as blue belts. Check out www.roydeanacademy.com

Roy Harris (Dean's instructor) also has a good series entitled, BJJ 101. As the name of the series suggests, it's lays the foundation of what you need to know to grapple well. Nothing fancy, just solid fundamentals, which are truly all you really need.

Drmickey, I have found that just viewing techniques on YouTube or Google Video very useful. There are so many out there and some good ones that I've downloaded them to my computers with a few I've burned to disc so that I could share them with others. Many I have taken to class to work with one of my partners to get it down.

At home and at work I have a "wack" of them that many times I will review prior to class to refresh my memory. Many I have used so many times they are already ingrained in my memory.

Roy Deans DVD is very good! Also visit submissions 101.
