WingTsun's Devastating Long Pole - 05/11/06 06:24 AM

GM Leung Ting has published an article in Kung Fu magazine.
What are your thoughts of the article. I found it an interesting read:

I won't bash anyone but,

I have no respect for anyone that calls themselves the GM of Wing Chun.

That being said, I think its great that the article talks about this little understood aspect of WC. I was sad to learn that LT teaches Long Pole to beginners.. I have not seen any videos or books worth my money on this topic..

I don't like the fact techniques have little detail, and that the only picture is of him making a silly pose like he always does.

He is my senior so I won't say anything bad about him.

What makes you say that?

I'm in no place to judge who did and did not receive pole training from Yip Man, but I can say I enjoyed the article. Most, if not all of it sounds feasible and it matches what I had/thought of the pole.

I knew the pole came from elsewhere through that exchange, but I had no idea it was from Hung Gar's Fifth's Son pole. Gotta see it again, but I don't remember it looking too close to Wing Chun's set.
