Bunkai I - a look at the original explaination

I'm beginning a new series on my blog about 'bunkai', using Mabuni Kenwa's original examples from his 1934 ‘Goshin Karate Kempo’ using Seienchin Kata.

Excellent Article, However, I'm not too keen on the Karate Attacks that are used by ShitoRyu/Shukokai are not for me.

I tend to look at Bunkai/Oyo as defences against Real attacks in real situations.

i see the kata as stand-up grappling not basic block and strike that tends to be seen there

Bassai for one has 14 neck wrenches and other kata are just as lethal.
