Kids class/activities suggestions - 09/08/10 01:46 PM

Hello, I'm going to be taking over a kids Kyokushin class very soon. I believe the ages are from 5 to 12. There is a pretty good size group of them, and they're all the progressing around the same time so not many different colored obi's.

What kind of fun karate oriented games and exercises do you all know of?

Aside from all the many drills of kata, kihon, and kumite.

Thanks for the suggestions...

It's good to know that you are enhancing the kids experienced by making the classes fun while simultaneously improving their karate skills.

You can incorporate any fun games into your class and not necessarily karate oriented games and exercises. Examples of games are obstacle course, catch your tail, multi-way tug o war or even frisbee.

try 4kicks.com

I haven't really explored it but it's supposed to have games and exercises for kids.

that website is cool, lots of drills and everything it seems. It would take some time to review it I'm betting.

Obstacle course, great idea and there's plenty of stuff to use to make one too.

Thanks Gentleman
