Bo kata

Does anyone know any names of Bo kata so google searches could be done.

The style I train in has SHUJI NO KUN SHO, ... DAI, SAKUGAWA NO KUN SHO ... DAI, SOEISHI NO SHO ... DAI, SUEYOSHI

(You might already know: 'KUN' is Okinawan for Bo and SHO/DAI resp. short/long)

Has anyone heard of any other kata

P.s. Please don't overload with different spellings. Just say the name of your kata out loud and try how it fits the spelling already shown.. O.K?

we have a number of bo kata in our syllabus:

Sakagawa
Shimabuku
Miasata
etc ...

there are forms of these all over the web

"Kon" is the correct spelling/pronunciation

"Sho" means minor, "Dai" means major [your definition is a common mistake among westerners most likely due to identifying "Daito" as long sword & "Shoto" as short sword]

Papu Haku Sho
Papu Haku Di
Chon No Khon
Sakagawa No Khon
Sushi No Khon
Ksukane No Khon
Shishi No Khon

Did you train under Kimo Wall, Kodokan? I believe Papu Haku sho and dai are kata he created.

Hedkikr, I'll try and remember that. (Though I wasn't aware of the different swords and their names.)

I find it funny to see, some of (I think) the same kata, only spelled slightly different.

No, but my teacher has...therefore the 'Kimo' training kata.

Wow, I just found out that my Kobudo style has a rather large curriculum of bo kata. There are 22 bo kata!
Also three different Shuji kata!
Some are also practised in different styles, as I have noticed.

Thats not surprsing. The system of Kobujutsu i study uses about the same number of Bo kata as that. Plus 12 Sai Kata, 5 Nunchaku, 6kama, 6 Tonfa, 2 Eku, 1 tekko, 1 surichin, 1tinbe rochin, and 1 nunti

But doesn't Euku belong to the Bo (group)?

The bo katas that have been taught to me so far are:
tsu-yoi bo
Mi-yoshi no kon
tokumine no kon
Urashi bo
FuKyu bo
Sushi no kon
Most of these kata are from Isshinryu with the last 2 respectfully from Master Iha Kotaro's RyuKonKai Kobudo, hope this helps!

Thanks for the info everyone. But don't stop, all bo kata are welcome. I believe there is a style called Tesshinkan, but I don't know for shure. Anybody who does?

Yes there is a Styl call Tesshikan, the Head is Shihan Hidemie Tamayose. He was a long time student of Eisuke Akamanie. He has seperated from the Ryukyu Kobudo Hozon Shinkokai and founded his own uninion the Ryukyu Kobudo Tesshinkan.
