Honestly, everyone's going to answer you that you can't learn without a qualified instructor, and they'll be right. But they'll be PARTICULARLY right in this case, the three-section staff being well-known as one of the most difficult weapons to master, one that requires years of clumsy self-hitting before being able to pull out some acceptable moves. Probably worth it though. I hear that it's extremely effective and versatile (once mastered, that is. That's the hard bit.)
