John Kogas, May I please ask... - 10/27/06 03:44 AM

Hi John,

In the past couple of years you have said a lot about the type of clinching you train and how its different to Thai clinching. Greco Roman right? I have been searching but cant find too much on the net. Could you be so kind as to give me a little bit more information on it? I have always been interested since its an area that I am not too well versed in myself.

Thanks

Cool! A technical thread that I can pull up a seat to and read.

Hopefully so...

I will take all of us to contribute and ASK QUESTIONS!!

In the meantime, check out this Randy Couture highlight video to see some great clinch work during an MMA fight with Vitor Belfort:

Don't think I've forgotten about this thread. Hopefully I will be able to upload some video tomorrow to youtube or something that might provide a good glimpse into the wrestling clinch.

Afterward we'll begin a discussion.

Clinch Thread - 11/13/06 08:39 PM

This is without a doubt, better than anything that I could have written here.

Actions speak louder than words. Check out the main video on the following page (Randy Couture):
http://www.totalvid.com/Mixed-Martial-Arts-Videos/Clinch-Take-Downs-from-the-Dominant-Position/

Watch that if you have the opportunity. 3.99 for a week download isn't bad considering what you're getting. Its at least a good look at the things that I consider to be of critical importance in the clinch.

There is probably no better instruction on the wrestling clinch on DVD. Further questions can be addressed here.

Thanks, good luck and good viewing all!

haha well that guy just completely skipped the stand up part and went for ground & pound. What bothered me was that the crowd didnt let them fight
