Learning 2 Martial Arts? - 03/20/05 03:49 PM

I have been learning Shorinji Kempo for about 7 years and i feel that i am fairly experienced in it. ALthough, only recently my friend suggested to learn Muay Thai with him. Is this a good idea, because i have heard that mixing to MA together is not a very good idea.

I have no problem doing it. Particularly because the arts I study really have no overlapping areas. I studied TKD for 15 years and recently started Jujutsu.

Because the ranges are different I don't have a problem with one art influencing another (TKD - long to trapping; Jujutsu - clinch to grappling) It's like a breath of fresh air to study something so different. I have gained much from the experience.

ANY reason to study Muay Thai is a GOOD reason. Now start elbowing and thigh kicking like mad!
