Anybody saw Bodhidharma?? - 08/24/02 06:10 PM

Hello fighters!! I heard about Bodhidharma's three texts that become the foundation of early kung fu. I want to ask if there can be found a translation of them in english- I'm talking about the first which deals with the trasformation of the muscles and the tendons(YI KIN KING) and the second( Book on the cleansing of the marrow), concentrated on energetic exercises. I'm I looking for something that exists, or I'm chasing ghosts of the past? Whoever has a clue, please contact me at NATARAJA_000@YAHOO.COM />
Thanks

Hey nataraja, If you ever find those texts, could you give me a copy, or a link to them, or where you can buy them etc...
I have no Kung-fu Instructors whithin 3 and a half hours drive of where I live, but it has always been a dream to follow Shaolin crane kung-fu.

Hello,
Yes those books are available, I have one that has the original texts in Mandarin, a direct translation, then an interpretation/explaination.
As far as I know they are available through Yans Martial Arts Association(YMAA)Publishing ISBN 0-940871-06-8
There are apparently a couple other books around, get them if you can they provide some pretty amazing insights into both the Arts and the life of Bodhidarma
