Yoshinkan Aikido Seminar Sydney Australia - 03/16/07 07:13 AM

Aikido Yoshinkai NSW (AYNSW) is pleased to host Robert Mustard Sensei, 7th Dan black belt in Yoshinkan Aikido, for a 3-day seminar on April 6-8, 2007 in picturesque Sydney, Australia. ( http://seesydney.com.au/ )

Yoshinkan Aikido is known for its dynamic yet non-aggressive approach to subdue an attacker. It uses the attacker's oncoming power to apply techniques through balance breaking, locks, pins and throws. It is also the Aikido style in which the Tokyo Metropolitan Riot police are trained in Japan.

Mustard Sensei, a Canadian who was featured in the award-winning book Angry White Pyjamas by Oxford poet Robert Twigger, is one of the highest-ranked Yoshinkan instructors in the world today and one of a few 7th Dan black belts living outside of Japan.

Today Mustard Sensei is recognized worldwide as being among the very best Yoshinkan Aikido instructors and frequently travels all over the world conducting seminars in Australia, Canada, Japan, Europe and USA.

Typically Mustard Sensei’s seminars focus on the body’s core strength and balance, the correct application of the principles of Yoshinkan Aikido, and not using muscle power. His techniques and demonstrations are highly effective, smooth and confounding – his ukes are often left bewildered as to how they got there after being thrown onto the mat!

With his background in other martial arts including five years in traditional Chinese Hung Gar Kung Fu and Kendo (2nd Dan), Mustard Sensei is well positioned to provide a memorable martial arts experience and training for non-Aikido practitioners as well.
