This is a two-part workshop. Bernie Lau will be teaching on Saturday,December 1. This portion of the workshop will focus on practical applications of aikijujutsu and aikido.

A retired law enforcement officer who began his martial arts training under Koichi Tohei in 1955, Lau developed many of the restraint tactics currently approved for use by
Washington State law enforcement officers. For further details, see the

Aaron Fields will be teaching on Sunday, December 2. This portion of the workshop will focus on ground wrestling, and is intended primarily for people with backgrounds in aikido, karate, and other non-grappling arts.

Fields holds a menkyo in Yabe Ryu jujutsu, a yudansha grade in Jon Bluming’s International Budokai Foundation, and trained in Mongolia with the Mongolian national team in judo, sambo, and Mongolian wrestling.

Directions from I-5 northbound and southbound:
Take the I-90 eastbound exit. Get in the right hand lane, and take the first exit (#3) to Rainier Ave. S. southbound. Turn right onto Rainier Ave. S. Go approximately 1-2/3 miles to Charleston Street. Turn left onto Charleston. Take the first left hand turn onto 34th Ave. S. Go one block to the Habitat for Humanity building. Turn left and proceed to the rear of the building to Seattle Jujutsu Club.
